Endless Summer Bucket List
We still have a few weeks of summer left, let’s make the most of it!
Can you even believe that we are in the last weeks of summer?! How did time fly by so quickly? Even though mom has been very excited for fall to come, I had to remind her…we still have a few weeks of summer left, let's make the most of it!
To be honest, we did start the summer with a list of fun ideas and activities that we wanted to do. But just like with any good plan; life happens, time flies, and here we are looking back realizing we didn't check anything off!
To make sure we squeeze every last little bit of summer fun while we can, Mom thought it would be a great idea if we made a summer bucket list and do our best to stick to it over the coming weeks!
For anyone else that is taking this as a “summer’s ending” wake up call, we’ll be stepping through how we came up with ours in hopes that you join alone with our list or make one of your own! We will be sharing this on our instagram (@grahamsgoldengram) and would love for you guys to tag us in your adventures. What better way to bond as a community AND end summer with a bang?!
Making our Bucket List
We have had a pretty busy summer launching Graham Friendly and some of our personal wants and interests have taken a back seat. Although as you’ve seen, my parents have made an effort every single weekend to do something JUST FOR ME. I do know I am one lucky pup…
Anyway, the rest of our summer schedule is pretty full with my humans' personal commitments, so our list is going to be full of easy ideas and staying mostly local or at home. We want to make sure our list includes some yummy treats, fun adventure, and best of all, quality time together.
Endless Summer Bucket List
Watch the Sunset (at the beach)
Have a park picnic
Backyard Movie Night/Go to the Drive In
Make Homemade Lemonade
Get Ice Cream at Handels
Get In n Out after a beach day
Find a new hike
Find a New Neighborhood Walk
Try a New Brewery
Let’s Dive In: Quality time together with a view
There’s nothing like a summer sunset, especially with your favorite people/pups and a comfy blanket. We realized that we haven't sat to watch the sunset all summer long, and we have such a beautiful view right down the street from us. So we put it number one on our list and thought you guys might like this as well!
Up next, we wanted to kind of piggy back on the same idea of quality outside time on a blanket. So we thought it’d be fun to have a picnic in the park. We’re thinking of bringing a charcuterie board of dog friendly fruits and veggies and maybe I’ll get a little taste of some cheese and deli meat!
Another fun idea in this same genre of comfort and snacks is going to a drive-in OR in our case (we don't have any near us) a backyard movie night! We got a projector off of Amazon that hooks up to the wifi and you can use any of your streaming services to watch a fun movie! If you don’t have a projector we have also brought an extension cord and our smaller guest room TV outside, put it on a side table and cuddled up on the outdoor couch to watch something under the stars.
Summer Eats
The next genre of our bucket list is fun summer eats! We have a beautiful lemon tree in our own backyard and we haven't made any homemade lemonade yet! What is summer without a nice big glass of fresh made lemonade?!
Another thing that we haven’t done this summer or ANY summer since living down in SOCAL is trying Handel’s Ice Cream. They have dog ice cream available too so we are definitely excited about this one!!
And our last “food” related bucket list item is to get some In n Out after a day at the beach. There’s no better way to reenergize than with a pup patty after splashin around in the waves and diggin in the sand all day!
Adventures!
And lastly, we have our more “adventurous” section of our bucket list. We have a few outings that won’t take up an entire day, but are still new to us and getting outside!
We have a pretty big list of hikes we’ve been wanting to try but have been so busy we’ve just stuck to what we already know. Trying out a new hike is a must for us before summer is over!
Speaking of being creatures of habit…we always end up at our favorite brewery, but our goal is to try out a brand new one! There are SO many options all within less than 20 minutes from us! The best part of breweries is that they are so dog friendly! I always get so spoiled with attention!
Lastly, we walk the same neighborhoods every single day, not always the same route, but we stay in a small radius. Our goal is to drive to a brand new neighborhood and do one of our morning walks there. It is so fun to see the new sights, smell the new smells, and be somewhere new!
If you too feel like summer has flown right by, we hope that you join us in ending it with a bang! We made sure to keep it simple, fun, and memorable!
Throughout the next few weeks we’ll be using the hashtag #endlesssummerbucketlist to post and share our adventures on instagram if you wanna join along! We will also be sharing a bucket list image that you can save and check off with us!!
And with that, I have a toy to dig out from under the couch. Talk to you next week and as always, stay friendly!
